Hou Pengkun(侯朋昆)
Hi There! 👋
I’m a PhD student in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore, started August 2026. Prior to this, I completed my Master of Computing (Computer Science) at NUS, and in 2025 received my B.Eng degree in Computer Science from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT).
I am at the Acoustic Research Laboratory (ARL), supervised by Assoc. Prof. Mandar Chitre and Dr. Matthias Hoffmann-Kuhnt, researching dolphin-inspired 3D acoustic imaging, building on my prior work analyzing dolphin bioacoustics with machine learning. Previously, I also worked closely with Prof. Martin Henz for my undergraduate FYP and Master’s project.
In my spare time, I enjoy singing, hanging out with friends, photography, playing the ukulele, Model United Nations, and doing Duolingo. I hope to spare more time at concerts, sharpen my badminton skills, and squeeze in a few extra rounds of Splatoon.
